Chicago
Illinois, U.S.A. – Thursday, June 14th, 2012
It's a terrific mess of 13,000 lbs. of steel and aluminum. Abrasive confusion. I guess there's a "man vs. nature" aspect going on in it. This was around the Chicago Board of Trade Building Plaza at the Board of Trade Building The interior was very Art-Deco Walking down Jackson Blvd beneath the Chicago L. Arriving at the Willis Tower (formerly Sears Tower; that will take a while to get used to) Prices weren't super cheap for what's basically an elevator ride, but we hadn't spent anything all day opting for public art instead, so it was time to indulge a little bit. "Welcome to Iconic Chicago" Arriving at the 103rd floor of the Willis Tower, the Skydeck. Overlooking the south side of Chicago Zoomed in on the Jazz Showcase, where we'd be headed shortly later that night. You can even see the entire curve of the bottom of Lake Michigan! Traffic congestion Now looking west We were standing there earlier today! Millennium Park Iconic Roughly the area most of our self-guided public art tour took place Chicago; there's a lot of it. Looks like something that could be made with Legos. Wonder if Roger Ebert is inside that building?
