Coney Island

The Tempest, a flat ride located nearby the lake. I was told to keep an eye out for it, but unfortunately it was not taking riders when I first passed by.

The Paddleboats on the lake are also included on the wristband, which given they're typically an upcharge at other parks seems to be a pretty good value.

Side view of the Tempest. I'm not sure exactly what it does, but I'm sure whatever it is it would have made me dizzy.

Pretty nice building for an arcade games pavilion.

Funhouse mirrors were positioned alongside one of the buildings.

Newer children's ride

Small fairground carousel and a bounce tower. One thing missing at Coney Island (among much else) is a good historic carousel.

Fountain in the middle of the park

Moonlite Gardens, a dance hall constructed in 1925 by Philadelphia Toboggan Company (never knew they did buildings like that)

Would have been nice to explore but they had a private party going on.

Peeking through the fence to the Sunlite Pool area, which continues to be the park's most popular attraction after 87 seasons.

The waterslides are obviously newer.

This way to the exit. Overall I thought Coney Island was a very nice park to visit given its small size. The biggest setback is a limited number of rides, none of which are anything that couldn't be found at an average carnival, but at $8.00 for a 5:00-9:00pm ticket it's still a great deal and worth it even if only for the Python and the Rock-O-Plane. If you're in Cincinnati for Kings Island and get in the night before with a couple of free hours before sundown, there's certainly worse ways to spend your time and money.

This auditorium next to the park supposedly gets some big name acts throughout the year and can cause traffic problems for Coney Island since they share the same parking lot; check before you go to make sure this won't be a problem.

Found the Mystery Machine on the way back to the car. I wonder if another ghost has been haunting the amusement park again?

Crossing the Ohio River from Kentucky back into Cincinnati... after already having spent the evening in Ohio at Cincinnati's Coney Island. It's confusing to read but makes a bit more sense if you look at a road map of the area.
