George loved Kennywood too! The Auto Race was calling The Auto Race was built by Traver Engineering in 1930. It's basically a fast-paced car ride that uses a wooden trough rather than guide rails to steer its electrically powered vehicles along the course. I once made a documentary about Harry Traver in middle school that won me a trip to Washington D.C., so I had to give the Auto Race another try. Laffin' Sal has been laughing for a very long time. Of course there's always a history card nearby at Kennywood. Another look at the Auto Race station I had never been on the Olde Kennywood Railroad so I had to give it a try this time around. The train was added to Kennywood in 1945, although it was first built for the 1939 World's Fair. Love the atomic-era steel build that looks more like an oversize vintage toy train than a miniature real locomotive. All aboard the Olde Kennywood Railroad. Riding alongside the Auto Race. The railroad runs along the top of the bluff overlooking the Monongahela River.
